Miner dies from gas poisoning in Benguet town

BAGUIO CITY — A miner died from gas poisoning on Monday afternoon (April 17) while cleaning an impounding tank used to store mine tailings in Barangay Ucab in Itogon town, Benguet province.

Allen Dao-as, 24, was rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) where he was declared dead on arrival, according to the Cordillera Police Regional Office.

Peter Ticag, 40, and Benito Bolinget Lengwa, 26, who were cleaning the tank with Dao-as, survived. They were treated for gas inhalation at Baguio hospitals.
