Man charged for pouring boiling water on wife

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines – A farmer faces criminal charges for allegedly pouring boiling water on his wife after she refused to give him money to buy liquor.

Initial investigation showed the incident occurred when Ramil Datul Andres was in a drinking spree with his friends at his house in Barangay Kattabogan, Pinukpuk, Kalinga on Thursday.

The wife of the suspect, Juliet, claimed her husband beat her up whenever he was drunk.
