Street sweeper dies of heat stroke

MANILA, Philippines – A 57-year-old street sweeper reportedly died of heat stroke in Sta. Cruz, Manila on Saturday afternoon.

Mario Velasco complained of shortness of breath while doing his job at the corner of Oroquieta street and Doroteo Road at around 4 p.m., according to the Manila Police District.

Arnold Tejada, 55, a vendor, said he saw Velasco closing his eyes before he passed out.
