2 workers killed in Northern Samar landslide

TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines — Two workers were buried alive in a landslide in Northern Samar on Wednesday.

Jonel Nabor and Elmer Abayon, both 17, were excavating the compound of the Libas Elementary School when the incident occurred.

The bodies of the victims were recovered after three hours.

Senior Superintendent Felix Diloy, Northern Samar police director, said the contractor suspended its operations pending the results of an investigation.
