2 workers die in landslide

SAN JUAN, La Union, Philippines — Two workers were buried alive in a landslide at a construction site in Barangay Urbiztondo, San Juan, La Union on Friday.

Chief Inspector Silverio Ordinado Jr., La Union police information officer, identified the fatalities as Vernie delos Trenos and Juvy Lima.

Loreto Barroga was injured and confined at the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center.

Ordinado said the construction workers were resting when the ground caved in.
