MARIVELES, BATAAN — A Chinese worker of a coal-fired power plant operated by the GN Power Corp. was killed by a steel beam that accidentally fell on his back on Wednesday in Alas-asin village here, police said.

Lujun Peng, 52, of Shendong, China, was declared dead on arrival at the Bataan General Hospital in Balanga City.

Lujun was operating a crane to hoist an indoor water wall to the top of a new building. But strong winds pushed the chain blocks, attached to the water wall, and dislodged the beam that fell on Lujun, police said. /je
