The education arm of conglomerate Ayala Corp. has taken over of National Teachers College, a Manila-based school with around 10,000 students.
In a stock exchange filing, Ayala Corp. said its wholly-owned subsidiary AC Education Inc. assumed 96 percent ownership of National Teachers, located in the University Belt, Manila.
National Teachers is the second educational institution taken over by ACEI since it began investing in this space in 2012 with a goal to empower Filipino parents and children by delivering inclusive, quality education.
Founded in 1928, National Teachers is one of the most well-recognized teacher education institutions in the country, with Level III Accreditation from PACUCOA for its Bachelor programs in elementary and secondary education. It also offers programs in Accountancy & Business, Arts & Science, Hospitality Management and Information Technology.
Ayala Corp. chairman and CEO Jaime Augusto Zobel De Ayala said they are “committed to investing in the education sector, which they find critical to nation-building.
