The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has launched a set of guidelines for handling complaints involving discrimination against members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

CHR Commissioner Karen Gomez-Dumpit said the protocol laid down the course that complainants could take and the procedures that government agencies should follow in handling complaints on LGBT discrimination.

“This is part of our mandate as gender ombudsman. We are providing an avenue for our citizens with diverse Sogie (sexual orientation and gender identity or expression),” she said. —Melvin Gascon
