19 Aug 2018 – A CRUEL INFLATION ABSTRACT! – I hadn’t been to market in two weeks. I was out somewhere. I went to my suki market stall for the usual veggies and all. A woman mamimili asked for the price of ‘patola’, and exclaimed “Wow, ha!” when the seller said P50 per kilo. I smiled. .

I asked how much for my usual fare of okra, eggplant, sweet potato, bananas, bell pepper, etc.
The seller said P150. My turn to exclaim “Wow!” I had paid for the same lot only P125 two weeks before.

It was the seller’s turn to smile.
