MANILA, Philippines — Three workers were hurt after a tank of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) exploded at a food park in Pasay City Sunday night.

Jerry Orpilla, 33; Jay Venus delos Santos, 50, and Analiza Sevilla, 37, remain confined at the San Juan de Dios Hospital for second-degree burns but were declared to be in stable condition.

Orpilla, House of Wagyu stall manager, smelled LPG fumes just as he and his two subordinate were offering customers at the Food Treat Tayo food park a free taste of their dishes at around 8:50 p.m., according to a report from the city’s Bureau of Fire Protection.

An explosion that occurred moments later damaged the House of Wagyu stall and two nearby stalls, authorities said.

The food park remains closed pending an investigation into how the LPG tank exploded.
