Inaasahang P2 hanggang P7 ang ibababa sa presyo ng bigas kada kilo kapag dumating na ang mga inaangkat na bigas sa ibang bansa.
Ipinahayag ni Department of Finance Assistance Secretary Tony Lambino sa isang forum sa Quezon City, na ang inaasahang pagbaba ng presyon ng bigas at epekto ng rice tariffication law, na ipatutupad na sa darating na ika-5 ng Marso.
Mararamdaman umano ang tapyas sa presyon ng bigas mga ilang linggo o buwan mula ngayon.
Dagdag niya, hindi magkakapareho ang ibababa ng presyo dahil depende raw ito sa volume ng bigas na ipapasok sa bansa.
Bagamat wala pa ang iplementing rules and regulation (IRR), may mga probisyon umano ang batas na maaari nang i-implement, katulad ng malayang importasyon ng bigas na dati ay ang National Food Authority lamang ang may karapatan.
Pinaniniwalaang maganda ang magiging epekto ng rice tariffication law dahil may tiyak na P10 billion na ilalaan para sa pagpapayabong ng lokal na produksyon ng bigas.
May mga komontra sa rice tariffication law, at sinabi nilang papatayin nito ang produksyon ng bigas sa bansa dahil matatalo ang lcoal producers at mga magsasaka dahil sa impostasyon.
Ngunit, ayon sa National Economic and Development Authority, kabaliktaran ang magiging epekto ng batas, dahil bahagi ng makokolekta sa pamamagitan ng rice tariff dahil sa pamamagitan ng pondo, palalakasin ng pamahalaan ang seltor ng argrikultura. —
