MANILA, Philippines — Police arrested in Mandaue City, Cebu yesterday a 45-year-old woman who allegedly offered her daughters to online traffickers.
The International Justice Mission (IJM) said the suspect was transmitting sexually explicit photos of her daughters, aged six and seven, when she was collared.
The operation stemmed from information received by the Department of Justice from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children based in the United States about the woman’s online activities.
Probers said the woman had previously offered her 15-year-old daughter to online sex predators.
Authorities rescued the suspect’s two other children, aged 13 and 17. The siblings are receiving trauma-informed care, according to the IJM.
The woman is facing charges for human trafficking and violation of the Cybercrime Prevention and Anti-Child Pornography Acts.
