DAVAO CITY – A pilot was killed after the aerial spray plane he was flying crashed in Davao del Norte Saturday.

The Carmen municipal police station identified the victim as Jessie Kevin Lagapa, 25, a resident of Lapu Lapu City, Cebu.

Reports said Lagapa came from Barangay Kasilak, Panabo City and was going to a banana plantation to conduct aerial spraying at around 6 a.m. when the mishap occurred.

Witnesses said that when the plane reached Purok 1, Barangay Mangalcal, Carmen, it wobbled in the air, and later hit a power transmission line in the area.

Investigators are conducting a followup probe to determine the cause of the crash.
