Letter to DOLE on Leonides Dennis Sequeña

Justice for PMP labour organizer, Leonides “Dennis” Sequeña, shot by an unidentified gunman while attending a workers meeting in Cavite on 2 June 2019

He was attending a workers’ meeting and died shortly after the gunshot. Sequeña worked closely with Nagkaisa, the labour coalition in the Philippines and was actively organising in the Export Processing Zone in Cavite.

This is the 43rd extrajudicial killing cases under President Duterte’s administration. Philippines is amongst the worst countries for trade unionists where no rule of law and personal security is guaranteed for organised workers.

We ask your solidarity to circulate the model letter and send it to the Secretary of Labor and Employment of the Philippines and copy your email to htur@ituc-csi.org.
