LEGAZPI CITY –– Police anti-child trafficking operatives rescued on Thursday five minors reportedly working as sex workers in a videoke bar in Casiguran town in Sorsogon province, a police report said Friday.

Arrested were two alleged child traffickers Jenine Juadines, 42, the owner of Monjen Videoke Bar and Jane Delos Reyes, 41, a bar waitress, said Capt. John Flofer Galano, Casiguran police chief.

Galano said the rescued minors were recruited from other places.

In an interview, Galano said police, provincial social welfare personnel, and government prosecutors swooped down on the videoke bar around 12:30 a.m in Barangay Central and rescued five minors hired as sex workers.

He said a police operative posing as a customer negotiated for a bar girl and gave P2,000 in exchange for sex.

Galano said the videoke bar was subjected to surveillance after receiving reports the bar was employing minors./lb
