MANILA, Philippines — Twenty-one victims of alleged human trafficking have been rescued after police agents conducted separate entrapment operations in two spas in Quezon City.

A La Loma police station report showed that the Anti-Trafficking in Person Division of the Philippine National Police-Women and Children Protection Center (PNP-WCPC) led the rescue of the women from a spa in Barangay Maharlika and another spa in Barangay Santo Domingo.

Twelve women were rescued from the spa in Barangay Maharlika while nine other women were rescued from the spa in Barangay Santo Domingo.

Police also arrested during the entrapment operations five suspects, including two men and three women. They were brought to the PNP-WCPC for further investigation. Charges will be filed against them, according to authorities.

Police decided to withhold the names of the victims and suspects, as well as the name of the establishments, saying follow-up operations were underway.
