At least 10 chartered planes from China will arrive in the country next week for the deportation of nearly 700 Chinese nationals who were arrested by Immigration authorities for illegally working in Palawan, Pasig, Parañaque and Pampanga.
An immigration official said the planes will arrive in Puerto Princesa International Airport and Ninoy Aquino International Airport on separate dates to fly home the detained Chinese nationals.
The Chinese government will shoulder the cost of deporting all the arrested foreigners caught for illegally working in the country, the BI source said.
Seven small commercial planes will land in Palawan because the Puerto Princesa International Airport cannot accommodate big planes as large as the Airbus A380, while three commercial planes will arrive at NAIA.
The Bureau of Immigration arrested 324 Chinese nationals in Palawan and another 277 in Pasig for illegaly working in online games.
Another 31 Chinese believed to be operating prostitution dens were also arrested in a raid on a massage parlor in Barangay Baclaran, Parañaque City while 51 female Chinese working as masseurs were rescued.
Immigration agents also arrested seven Chinese nationals in Pampanga who did not have the necessary working permits.
The BI likewise apprehended a Chinese fugitive wanted in his country for economic crimes and swindling more than a thousand of his compatriots of large sums of money in a pyramiding investment scam.
According to Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente, the arrested fugitive, identified as Qian Bingxu, will be deported following his arrest at a five-star hotel in Pasay City by operatives from the BI’s Fugitive Search Unit.
