PARAÑAQUE CITY, Philippines — At least 14 Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese women forced into prostitution were rescued from a condominium unit in Parañaque City Thursday night.

The Philippine National Police’s Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) received an email from one of the victims, a Chinese, and staged an operation to verify her claims that she was recruited to work for a Philippine offshore gaming operator but ended up being forced to service Chinese men.

Police officers raided the Bay Tower 1 Condominium along Roxas Boulevard and found the women, some of whom bore wounds.

A Chinese man, supposed to be the manager of the sex den, was arrested.

The women were brought to the WCPD office at Camp Crame.

The Chinese man faces charges of human trafficking.
