Health workers with COVID-19 now at 2,808; one new death recorded

The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday reported that the number of healthcare workers who have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) climbed to 2,808 as of June 10.

In its daily COVID-19 report, the DOH also said the death toll rose to 33 with one new fatality.

No COVID-19-related deaths were recorded among health workers between May 29 and June 9.

Meanwhile, 1,664 health workers have recovered from the respiratory illness.

The other 1,111 active cases undergoing treatment or quarantine.

Of this number, 973 are classified as mild cases, 137 are asymptomatic, while one is in severe condition.

Health workers still account for 12 percent of the total infections nationwide.

The Philippines has logged 24,175 cases with 5,165 recoveries and 1,036 deaths as of Thursday afternoon. — BAP, GMA News
