SUBIC, ZAMBALES —- Five power plant workers in Masinloc, Zambales have tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and could have been exposed to a co-worker who also contracted the virus, authorities said.

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said the workers were employed by the Power Zaver, a subcontractor of the San Miguel Corp. power plant.

Bueno said the workers, who are all men aged 24 to 59, arrived in the province last month.

Their 55-year-old co-worker could have infected them, Bueno said.

Also included in the new COVID-19 cases in the province is a 29-year-old man working in Subic Bay Freeport.

The new cases brought to 74 the province’s total tally, 17 of which are active.
