PNP virus count climbs to 2,842

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police has posted 44 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019, bringing to 2,842 the total number of PNP personnel who have contracted COVID-19.

Based on data released by the PNP on Saturday night, police officers who recovered from the disease reached 2,019.

The National Capital Region Police Office recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 25, followed by the Special Action Force with seven and Crime Laboratory Group with five.

The rest of the cases came from the national headquarters, Health Service, Maritime Group and as well as the Police Regional Offices of Calabarzon, Bicol, Zamboanga and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. The number of deaths stood at 13.
