SAN ANTONIO, ZAMBALES – Three solar farm workers in Palauig, Zambales have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), raising the total number of active cases (patients currently undergoing treatment) in the province to 49.

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, on Friday said that a 25-year old female engineer was the first of the three workers who tested positive for Covid-19 when she complained of fatigue, loss of smell and taste in a hospital in Iba town.

It was not immediately known how the patient contracted the virus. The patient has no history of traveling outside the province.

A 30-year old female engineer and 30-year old male document controller who may have been exposed to the patient were later confirmed to have been infected.

Meanwhile, a 72-year-old man with a kidney ailment from Castillejos also tested positive for Covid-19.

The new cases increased the number of Covid-19 infections in Zambales to 805, with 738 recoveries and 17 deaths.
