A laborer died when he was electrocuted in Brgy. 9, Bacolod City past 10 a.m. yesterday.

Police Station 1 chief, P/Maj. Jovil Sedel, identified the fatality as Saner Perez, 41, of Gonzaga Extension, Bacolod.

Sedel added that Perez’s father, Ernie, told the police that his son was cleaning the wall of J.S. Finance Corp. building at Galo-Lacson Street when the accident happened.

Investigation conducted by P/C MSgt. Jim Augustos Velasco showed that the victim may not have noticed the live wire near him while he was cleaning the wall. Personnel from the Bacolod Bureau of Fire Protection helped in rescuing the victim, and rushed him to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.*
