IBA, Zambales, Philippines — A doctor at the President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital (PRMMH) in this town yesterday died of COVID, the provincial health office said.

Jean Rebultan, emergency room physician at the PRMMH, was not inoculated with anti-COVID vaccine. Her attending doctor did not give a clearance because she was suffering from asthma.

Rebultan had an asthma attack on Friday night. She was taken to the hospital and underwent a swab test.

Results showed she had COVID.

Rebultan had been taking care of the COVID patients at the hospital since the pandemic started last year.

Meanwhile, Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane and his sons – Iba Mayor Runsdette and provincial administrator Omar Ebdane – remain in an isolation room after they all tested positive for the virus.

Several state workers and employees of the President Ramon Magsaysay State University are also on quarantine due to COVID.
