BACOLOD CITY––The Bago City Hospital temporarily closed on Wednesday, Sept. 29, after eight personnel tested positive for COVID-19.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said the number of health workers at Negros Occidental provincial government-run hospitals who contracted the virus rose to 76 on Wednesday.
He said the provincial government has been hiring more health workers to serve the sick while the others recuperate from COVID-19.
Negros Occidental logged 4,115 COVID-19 active cases as of Wednesday, the Provincial Incident Management Team reported.
Since the pandemic began in March last year, the province has had 28,566 COVID-19 cases with 23,631 recoveries and 820 deaths.
