24 Feb 2022 – NTUC Phl picks LENI and KIKO as its presidential and vice presidential bets.

In its meeting on 23 February, the NTUC Phl General Council picked LENI ROBREDO and KIKO PANGILINAN as its candidates for president and vice president in the May 2022 elections.

The criteria for selection: committed to our labor agenda; track record of supporting labor, trade unions, farmers, educators, sectors, and advocacies; COVID-19 response; human rights advocate; winnability, significant in surveys; support for NTUC actions;  balance of principles and political realities; corruption.

NTUC Phl conducted straw votes among its officers in Aug 8, Sept 18, Oct 16, Nov 25. The latest vote taken on Feb 16-21 mirrored the Council’s decision.

An initial list of eight senatorial bets, led by labor leader SONNY MATULA, was also decided.

against the military junta in Myanmar
to carry out the recommendations of the 2021 ILO Commission of Inquiry
against serious violations of protocols of
Forced Labour and Freedom of Association.

Accept the National Unity Government (NUG) 
of Myanmar.  Reject Military!
