The American, Australian-New Zealand, British, Canadian, and European Chambers of Commerce are set to hold the latest installment of their highly successful employment expo aimed at providing local employment opportunities to the public. Dubbed “Foreign Chambers Local Employment Expo 2009,” the two-day expo will open on Oct. 22 at the Market! Market! Activity Center in Taguig City.

Foreign Chambers Employment Expo chairman and Australia-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce vice president Chris Ward said the employment expo, which is already in its third year, is the chambers way of bringing together businesses and highly qualified professionals and graduates in one venue.

“The expo has always been about matching skills with each company’s current needs. Hiring the best and right people for the job is a high priority among companies. Over the years, it has become very expensive for companies to hire and train the right individuals for the jobs available,” Ward said. The expo, like in previous years, will be offering technical jobs, middle management, executive positions in some of the biggest companies in the country.

Participating companies could be expected to make on-the-spot hiring decisions should they find a match between the applicant and the job openings available.–Daily Tribune
