Province of Siquijor (26 May) — Over 1,645 workers from the small and medium scale enterprises in the island is expected to attend the Training and Advisory Visits (TAV) which will be conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)within the month of May this year.
TAV implementation is in accordance with the new National Labor Standard Enforcement Framework mandated by Administrative Order 296, DOLE that aims to implement health and safety standards for workers in the private sector to reduce occupational hazards.
The undertaking was aimed at building an ethic of voluntary compliance to set standards among stakeholders, especially management and labor, and to establish a culture of safety and health in the workplace.
The said training will include topics like: overview of the new National Labor Standard Enforcement Framework; rights and obligations of management and labor; occupational safety and health standards; PhilHealth, SSS, ECC, and Pagibig benefits; productivity enhancement; and workshop on TAV action planning.
