Nine brands achieve Superbrand status

MANILA, Philippines – Nine of the country’s strongest brands received the prestigious Superbrands status during the 2nd Superbrands Certificate Cocktail Presentation for Volume VI held last March at Zuni’s Restaurant in Greenbelt V, Makati.

The brands that received this recognition were: A Bonne’ (Star Asia Marketing), Center for Culinary Arts (CCA), C-Lium Fibre (Pascual Laboratories), Gardenia, Globe Tatoo (Globe Telecom), Met Tathione (White Beauty Corporation), PLDT myDSL, Solignum (Jardine Distribution, Inc.), and Yakult (Yakult Phils.).

One other award was also handed to Zuni’s Restaurant and Wine Bar as the first recipient of the Superbrands special programme for hotels and restaurants for 2010/2011.

The latest batch of Superbrands awardees join First Certificate recipients Anniversary Report, Burlington, Business World, Fuji Scales, Health News, Highlife, Lemon Squares, Manila Bulletin, Manila Times, Orocan, Philippine Prudential Life Insurance Co., Inc., Shop TV, Red Fox, and Top 1000 who received their recognition last October 2009.

The Superbrands award certificates were presented by Karl McLean, Superbrand Marketing International, Inc. (SMI) chairman, and Harry Tambuatco, SMI vice chairman and president. Guest Speaker was Ma. Lourdes Mediran, executive director of the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the export promotions agency of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Superbrands Volume VI will be another testimony to the Asian region and to the world of the Filipino’s standard of excellence and quality of its products and services. “Superbrands is the only international award-giving body on branding in the Philippines,” SMI vice chairman & president Tambuatco reiterated. As the global authority on established and compelling brands, Superbrands International awards the Superbrands status exclusively to brands that have attained unequivocal success in their brand-building thrusts. In the Philippines, Superbrands has been promoting and publishing the successes of both homegrown and internationally present brands since its pioneering appearance in the country in 1996.
