Construction worker killed, 4 wounded in Davao City

A construction worker was killed while four others were injured when an elevator shaft of a shopping mall building which is under construction has collapsed in Davao City yesterday morning.

The victim was identified as Crispin Desalisa. The injured construction workers were Renewilis Balorio, Marciano Polbo, Jimmy de los Santos and Joy Rey Suson.

Investigation showed that the workers were pouring cement on the 4th floor of the Robinson’s building when the elevator shaft collapsed at 7 a.m.

Meanwhile the responding policemen questioned the security guards of the building why they were barred from entering the premises.

The contractor of the said building, DDT Konstract has been ordered by the city government to stop operation pending investigation being conducted by the local police. Gina Elorde, Daily Tribune
