Domingo tops list of Cabinet men with biggest real estate properties

MANILA, Philippines – Trade Secretary Gregory Domingo topped the list of Cabinet members with the biggest real estate properties worth more than P55 million.

Energy Secretary Jose Rene Almendras came in second with P48 million followed by Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala with P46.676 million.

The figures were based on the Cabinet members’ Statement of Assets and Liabilities and Net Worth. In the SALN, they reported the acquisition value as well as the present market value of their real properties.  

Science Secretary Mario Montejo ranked fourth with P42.796 million while fifth was Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson with P26.659 million.

The other Cabinet members declared the following amounts for their real estate properties – Environment Secretary Ramon Jesus Paje, P21.83 million; Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, P16.255 million; National Security Adviser Cesar Garcia, P14.1 million; Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, P11.026 million; Presidential Communications Operations Secretary Herminio Coloma, P10.7 million and Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa, P9.5 million.

Agrarian Reform Secretary Virgilio de los Reyes has real estate properties worth P8.786 million while Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin declared a total of P7.586 million.

Health Secretary Enrique Ona declared P4.79 million worth of real estate properties while Social Welfare Secretary Corazon Soliman said hers amounted to P2.08 million.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo has P1.577 million while Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz reported a total of P1.5 million.

Education Secretary Armin Luistro does not have any real estate properties while Tourism Secretary Alberto Lim did not state any amount in his SALN.
