Dipolog City (December 14) — City Mayor Evelyn Yu is very much thankful to President Benigno Aquino lll for appointing her as the RDC chair for region IX.

Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Prosecutor, Fiscal Mary Ann Tugbang swore her into office last week at the Liga City in Pagadian.

The Mayor takes pride in her appointment as RDC-IX Chair until 2013 because she emerged as the ‘chosen one,’ from a triad of contenders from Zamboanga City and Pagadian City in the persons of Mayor Celso L. Lobregat and Mayor Samuel S. Co, respectively.

“I can’t promise anything,” Mayor Uy said, “but will ask help of RDC members. We will do whatever the national government asks of RDC-IX to help develop the maximum potentials of region IX.”

The venue for RDC IX quarterly meetings is left for the members to determine. The first quarter venue now set in Dipolog City.

On the other hand, Zamboanga Peninsula recently elected 11 new Private Sector representatives (PSRs) to the RDC-IX. Through a convention,
