DOLE lifts deployment ban to Bahrain

Published by rudy Date posted on June 9, 2011

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has lifted the ban on the deployment of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to Bahrain.

In an advisory issued on June 8, Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said the DOLE has authorized again the processing and deployment of workers in Bahrain.

The order covers both new hires and those workers who are in the country

“The processing and deployment of OFWs to Bahrain is now allowed for both new hires and returning/vacationing workers or balik-manggagawa,” she said.

The ban was lifted after the alert level in the Kingdom of Bahrain was downgraded from Alert Level “2” to “1.”

The alert level was downgraded after conflict between the government and anti-government forces subsided. – VVP, GMA News
