ARMM wage earners get P10 COLA hike

COTABATO CITY: The Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board (RTWPB) approved a P10 increase in the cost of living allowance (COLA) of private sector minimum wage earners in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

ARMM’s Regional Labor Secretary Myra Alih on Wednesday said the RTWPB issued last week Wage Order No. 13 providing for the COLA increase.

Alih said the increase of P10 in daily COLA of ARMM resident-workers has been reached after a series of region-wide consultations.

Wage Order No. 13 is mandatory in ARMM and non-taxable, and will take effect 15 days after its publication in any widely read local paper, Alih said.

Acting Regional Governor Ansaruddin Alonto-Adiong has pushed for a P12 daily wage increase for all minimum private resident-workers, pegging the minimum wage at P222, Alih said. –JULMUNIR I. JANNARAL, Manila Times
