“Patay ang dalawang minero sa gas poisoning sa isang pribadong minahan sa Barangay Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet.” Patay ang dalawang minero sa gas poisoning sa isang pribadong minahan sa Barangay Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet.

Ayon kay Cordillera Regional Director Gen. Benjamin Magalong, ang mga biktima ay nakilalang sina Simeon Wakit, 36-anyos at Roy Quiliat.

Sa paunang imbestigasyon ng Itogon Police, pumasok sa tunnel ang mga biktima kasama ang dalawang iba pa na sina Toni Sinano at isang “Permin” nang maka-amoy sila ng masangsang na amoy ng gas.

Agad namang nakatakbo palabas sina Permin at Sinano nang makita ang dalawa na mag-collapse.

Sinubukan pa umano nilang iligtas ang mga biktima ngunit hindi na nila nakayanan pa ang amoy ng gas sa loob ng tunnel.

Agad namang nakahingi ng tulong ang dalawang nakaligtas sa mga awtoridad ngunit hindi na nila inabutan pang buhay sa loob ng tunnel ang dalawang minero.
