MANILA, Philippines – A woman who allegedly pretended to be a man on social media and tried to extort money from a student was arrested in an entrapment operation in Manila Saturday.

Diana Lyn Callao, 21, who uses the name Lee Andrei Inigo Santillan on Facebook, was nabbed after receiving P20,000 marked money from an 18-year-old complainant identified only as Annie at the Robinsons Place in Ermita.

Callao reportedly convinced Annie to remove her clothes as they were chatting online, had her photos taken through the computer and engaged her in cyber sex.

Annie filed a complaint with the Manila Police District after the suspect, whom she considered her “boyfriend,” threatened to upload her nude photos on the Internet.

She said Callao introduced herself as Lee from Malvar, Batangas when they first met online several months ago.

She said she was smitten by “his” looks based on photographs posted on the suspect’s Facebook account.

Annie said all was well during the first few months of their “relationship.” She said they even had sex online.

She told Police Officer 3 Jayjay Jacob that she exchanged gifts with her supposed boyfriend, with Callao serving as their messenger.

Early this month, the suspect allegedly started blackmailing her, asking her to buy “him” branded shoes and give “him” money so “he” won’t upload her nude pictures.

The victim reported the matter to the police, who set up the entrapment against the suspect.

Annie was surprised to find out that her supposed boyfriend and Callao was one and the same person. –Rey Galupo (The Philippine Star)
