The highest-paying jobs for fresh grads in the Philippines 2015

The IT industry has the highest paying first salaries for fresh grads, according to Annual Salary Report of Jobstreet Philippines

MANILA, Philippines – It’s graduation season, and after the caps fly and the diplomas are filed, it’s time to plunge into the working world with one’s first job. (READ: Fresh grads: Do employers care about where you went to college?)

The salary, of course, is an important element to consider. Jobstreet released their latest report on the top 10 specializations with highest paying first salaries for those new in the workforce Tuesday, March 24.

According to the report, the best paying entry jobs are in the IT industry, with five of the top ten specializations providing the highest salaries. The number one specialization on this report’s list is IT/Computer – Hardware, which gives an average salary of almost P24,000 for fresh graduates, followed by Network/System/Database Administration, Technical Helpdesk Support, and Hardware.

Examples of entry-level jobs in the Computer-Software specialization include Net Developer, Android Developer, and Business Security Assistant.

Other opportunities for fresh graduates who do not want to pursue a career in IT include finance, Human Resources, and Marketing/Business development.

According to Jobstreet, the Salary Report for Fresh Graduates was determined using the average salary of all specializations for fresh graduates. It is based on actual job postings of those hiring on Jobstreet.com.ph from October to December 2014.

However, the basic salaries exclude other compensation factors like leaves, medical benefits, and incentives (bonuses).

The report also stated that the specialization with the most jobs available for fresh grads is in the BPO/call center industry. 30% out of the 40,000 fresh grad posts on Jobstreet are vacancies for Customer Service specialists.
