Worker survives electrocution, 3-story fall

MANILA, Philippines – A 19-year-old construction worker survived electrocution and a plunge from the third floor of a building under construction in Sampaloc, Manila yesterday morning.

Police said Romnick Tagaibulusan was near death when he was brought to the UST Hospital due to serious burns and injuries. Doctors managed to save him and he is in “stable but critical condition,” according to police.

Senior Police Officer 4 Jessie Oliveros said the victim was working on the third floor of a four-story building along S.H. Loyola street when the steel bar he was holding accidentally touched a live electric wire. As a result, the victim fell from the third floor to the ground below. – Nestor Etolle, Philippine Star
