MANILA, Philippines – A 46-year-old truck driver in Manila died after a parked truck he was fixing in Tondo, Manila moved and pinned him to a post before dawn yesterday.

Alexander Bulawan was fixing the air brakes of his truck, a Mitsubishi Fuso Trailer with plate number ALA 7335, about 5:45 a.m. on Honorio and Lopez streets when the accident occurred, traffic investigators said.

Bulawan’s crewman, Reny delos Reyes, said the vehicle suddenly moved, prompting Bulawan to rush to the driver’s seat.

Before Bulawan could get behind the wheel, the truck pinned him to a nearby post, crushing him to death. –Aie Balagas See (The Philippine Star)
