Construction worker drowns in Tuba waterfalls

TUBA, Benguet – A 40-year old construction worker died after he allegedly drowned in the famous Colorado falls at Twin Peaks here around 3:30 pm Saturday.

Chief Inspector Jim Hilario, chief of the Tuba Municipal Police Station, identified the victim as Arthur Tabibos Alsiken, 40, married, labourer and a residence of Teacher’s Village, Sto. Tomas Proper, Baguio City.

Initial police investigation showed that a group of construction workers went to have outing in the said waterfalls and they decided to swim at the corner of the falls.

However, the victim decided to swim to where the water was falling and went to the center but he suddenly disappeared from the sight of his companions.

Search and rescue operations were immediately undertaken and the lifeless body of the victim was recovered in the area several hours after the incident.
