TUGUEGARAO CITY — A 48-year-old Nueva Vizcaya trader committed suicide on Tuesday (May 2) after killing his 49-year-old wife and injuring his 19-year-old daughter in Bambang town, Nueva Vizcaya, a belated police report stated.
Reonel Ramel shot himself with a handgun after shooting his wife, Catherine, the bank manager of the Rural Bank of Bayombong, Inc., at their home in Abinganan village.
He also shot daughter Monica in the stomach. She is now confined at the intensive care unit of the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital.
Ramel was heard shouting at his neighbors to call for the police, before he shut himself in a room and killed himself.
Police said the trader had been suffering depression owing to family problems and a frustrated murder case against him, which was being heard by the Regional Trial Court in Bayombong town, also in Nueva Vizcaya. SFM
