Three suspected human traffickers preying on minors for prostitution were arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation during an operation in Rizal last May 28.
NBI Director Dante Gierran identified the suspects as Tania Versoza Ramos, Ediven John Joven, and Manolo Vicente Boca, who have been charged before Rizal Provincial Prosecutor’s Office for violations of Republic Act 9208 or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 as amended by RA 10364 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012) and RA 7610 (Special Protection Against Child Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act).
Twelve female victims, including 10 minors, were rescued in the operation.
Gierran said suspects were arrested by the NBI-Rizal District Office at the Acedeo Country Resort in Pililia last May 28.
Gierran said the operation stemmed from an information relayed by Destiny Rescue Philippines, an internationally recognized Christian non-profit organization, regarding the sex trade taking place in the area.
