Three suspected pimps were arrested, while, 12 female victims including 10 minors were rescued by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) during an operation conducted in Rizal.

NBI Director Dante Gierran identified the arrested suspects as Tania Versoza Ramos, Ediven John Joven, and Manolo Vicente Boca.

The three suspects have been charged before Rizal Provincial Prosecutor’s Office for violation of Republic Act 9208 (Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003) as amended by RA 10364 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012) and RA 7610 (Special Protection Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).

Gierran said the three suspects were arrested by operatives of the NBI-Rizal District Office (NBI-RIZDO) during an entrapment operation at the Acedeo Country Resort in Pililia, Rizal last May 28.

During the operation, NBI agents also rescued 12 female victims which included 10 minors.

Gierran said the operation stemmed from an information relayed by Destiny Rescue Philippines, an internationally recognized Christian non-profit organization, regarding the sex trade taking place in the area.

With the information, Gierran himself gave the directive for the NBI-RIZDO to conduct the operation against the illegal activities.

NBI operatives were also accompanied by representatives from Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and barangay officials.
