DIGOS CITY — A driver of a 10-wheeler truck was rushed to the Southern Philippine Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City after he was electrocuted in Barangay Colorado here around 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Supt. Deozar Almasa, city police director, said Gilbert Pojas, a resident of Davao City, stopped in Barangay Colorado to transfer his cargo to another truck on Tuesday.

However, while the boom truck was moving 200 bags of cement to another Fuso truck, the cable snapped, causing it to swing it to the main line of the Davao del Sur Electric Cooperative (Dasureco), electrocuting Pojas.

The victim was immediately brought to the Davao Sur Provincial Hospital but was later transferred to the SPMC because of his critical condition.

The incident resulted in a one-hour power interruption in the province. /ee
