satisfaction over the current administration rose to a new record high in the first quarter, according to a survey by the Social Weather Stations.

The survey, which was conducted last March 28 to 31 involving 1,440 Filipino adults, indicated that 81% of respondents were satisfied with the performance of the Duterte administration, while only 9% said they were dissatisfied.

This puts the Duterte administration’s net satisfaction rating at +72 which is classified as “excellent.” This is six points higher than the administration’s score in December 2018 and two points higher than their rating a year prior.

Satisfaction over the Duterte government is also considered the highest among past administrations.

The rise in the current administration’s satisfaction rating, meanwhile, can be attributed to increases in all areas. The score jumped 11 points in Visayas at +74, six points in Mindanao (+81), three points in Balance Luzon (+68), and five points to +65 in Metro Manila.

In terms of communities, the Duterte administration’s satisfaction rating rose from “very good” to “excellent” in both urban and rural areas. The score was also excellent among classes ABC and D, but declined to very good in class E.

The administration also got an excellent score when it comes to helping poor and a very good rating on fighting terrorism.

Malacañang welcomes the result of the SWS survey, calling it proof that the public recognizes the Duterte government’s efforts in fighting poverty and terrorism despite the opposition’s claims stating otherwise.
