2 farmers electrocuted

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — Two farmers died of electrocution while planting palay in Sitio San Gregorio, Barangay Cabittaogan, Sta. Catalina, Ilocos Sur on Monday.

Police said Mauricio Racsa, 70, accidentally touched a live wire attached to a water pump.

Christian John Apolina, 20, was electrocuted when he tried to save Racsa.

The victims were pronounced dead on arrival in a hospital in Vigan.
