MANILA, Philippines — A 45-year-old driver was crushed to death by a shipping container in Paco, Manila yesterday afternoon.
Rogelio Policarpio, driver of XH Cargo Express, died at the scene.
Police said Policarpio and his helpers were unloading the cargo along United Nations Avenue when the shipping container collapsed and pinned him down at around 3:12 p.m.
The impact threw the seven helpers on the pavement.
Sgt. Jorlan Taluban of the Manila Police District homicide unit said the container caved in due to the weight of the cargo.
