Power outage hits Ilocos town as man electrocuted

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — A 20-year-old electrician remained under observation in a hospital yesterday after he was electrocuted in Caoayan, Ilocos Sur on Wednesday.

Police said Edwim Velasco was installing an electrical wire at a building in Barangay Alejandro Quirolgico when he accidentally touched a power generator and a line of the Ilocos Sur Electric Cooperative.

The incident plunged the entire town in darkness at around 9:30 a.m.
