DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines — At least 47,078 households were removed from the list of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps beneficiaries in Ilocos last month.

Department of Social Welfare and Development regional director Marcelo Castillo said 38,711 of the households were delisted after it was found out that they have no eligible members or those aged 0 to 18.

At least 1,043 households were also found to have regular or sufficient income.

Castillo said 6,958 are considered waived households; five were found to have misrepresented or committed other fraudulent acts; 162 engaged in misdemeanor, such as gambling and cash card pawning; 170 registered duplicate households and received two cash grants, and 29 were non-compliant with program conditions.

Among the conditions are for beneficiaries to attend family development sessions. The children of beneficiaries should also attend their classes regularly and avail themselves of medical checkup and vaccines in health centers.

Pangasinan has the biggest number of delisted households at 24,332. Ilocos Norte has the least at 6,063.

Castillo said the ineligible households reached self-sufficiency as per the assessment of case managers, social welfare officers and grievance officers.

President Duterte signed Republic Act 11310, which institutionalizes 4Ps, on April 17.

Congress has set aside P89.8 billion for the program this year.
