The NTUC Phl Women and Youth Committees, in Joint Assemblies, met on 14 December 2019 in Quezon City to review progress in their respective Action Agendas and to plan next steps.
The Assemblies
(1) discussed progress in their respective Agendas approved on August 18, 2019;
(2) heard the report of the NTUC Phl (training team) representatives in the ITUC AP DGB BW ATUC three-year project on Increasing women and youth participation in trade unions and society; and
(3) discussed progress on actions in the May 2018 JILAF/NTUC Phl Conclusions and Recommendations.
Progress in the Women and Youth Agendas:
Participants enumerated what activities they have done and the results.
Participants cited information dissemination in their meetings, activities, CBAs, as well as participation in NTUC Phl, DOLE and community meetings, activities, and proposed next steps
Report on the ITUC AP DGB BW ATUC three-year project on Increasing women and youth participation in trade unions and society.
Sister Rem Sta. Ana made the presentation and guided discussions on what the committees and affiliates are expected to do. Participants suggested what activities could be done and suggested results to advance women and youth participation in the national center and at the levels of the federation and local unions.
Progress on actions in the May 2018 JILAF/NTUC Phl Conclusions and Recommendations
Participants cited information dissemination in their meetings, activities, CBAs, as well as participation in NTUC Phl, DOLE and community meetings, activities, and proposed next steps. Women Committee vice chair Flor Cabatingan led the processing of the different interventions.
Proceedings and recommendations from the Assemblies will be presented to the NTUC PHl Executive Board for confirmation and dissemination. The Women and Youth Committees will track action and results for presentation and evaluation in their May 2020 assemblies.
